Throughout the year I prattle on to my clients about the importance of self care…about putting yourself at the top of your appointment list and not feeling guitlty about it!
The summer break is a fantastic opportunity to practise what you preach and take care of your physical, emotional, mental and spirtual needs. Here are some of my own practises that energise me during the summer break.
Tip 1: I do something I love every day! Create a daily ritual that makes you feel great, that uplifts your spirit. New run circuit, walk with a friend, listen to music…. hear, see and feel more…cherish each day.
Tip 2: Read and read and read…I try new genres and stay clear of ‘self help’ which dominates my reading during the year.
Tip 3: Connect with people you love. There is more time and space to honour our relationships with the people we love. Cherish the special people in your life while you can.
Tip 4: Try new things…new food, a different style of wine, a new film genre, a new picnic spot, a new sport or activity. Nothing makes you feel more invigorated than when you give something new a go, it’s a sweet surprise that adds colour to life.
Have a fantastic Xmas summer holiday and I look forward to connecting with you in 2010.
Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love. Hamilton Wright Mabie
